A rainwater gutter is a narrow channel, or trough, forming the component of a roof system which collects and diverts rainwater away from the roof edge.
A rainwater downpipe or spout is a pipe for carrying rainwater from a rain gutter. Downpipes are usually vertical and usually extend down to ground level.
A hedgehog gutter brush keeps your gutters and drains clear of leaves, twigs, sticks, birds and other wind-blown debris.
KPVC uses the Freeflow® system which is is co-extruded to reduce main causes of leaks, uses compressible water tight seals and is film wrapped for protection from factory to fitting.
Benefits to your property
The main purpose of your rain gutter is to protect the building's foundation by channeling water away from its base. The gutter also helps to reduce erosion, prevents leaks in basements and crawlspaces, protects painted or stained surfaces by reducing exposure to water, and provides a means to collect rainwater for later use.
Water collected by a rain gutter is fed, via a downpipe, from the roof edge to the base of the building where it is either discharged or collected. Water from rain gutters may be collected in a rain water butt. KPVC can install and retrofit these for you.
Gutters should be maintained, to remove leaves and other debris to keep them from clogging. Gutters that are filled with debris can overflow and soak the foundation, damage the roof structure, and exacerbate ice in cold weather. The downpipe is used to direct water away from your building's foundation, to ensure your foundations are protected from water damage. The water can be piped to a drain or let into the ground or stored in a waterbutt. By recycling rainwater, this may reduce your household water charges.
Rainwater system styles
The rainwater systems we use come in a range of exterior colours but all have a white interior. This is to reduce problems associated with rapid heat absorption and expansion of gutters. The system is reliable, leak-free and can be quickly installed. They are also compatible with other rainwater systems using adaptors.
The styles available are as follows:
Our rainwater systems have a complete range of matching fittings to ensure a water-tight professional installation.
